Poetry for what?

To paraphrase an old bard, I once said that poets limited themselves to poetizing the world in different ways . It is, however, a matter of modifying it (by worldizing poetry!). It is precisely this poetry  made world, this urgent poetry (because life is still dated!), which I seek: words not for mystification, but for understanding intimate and social reality; poetry that raises flags, that brings together consciences, that knows which side of the trench it is on, that sings the necessary song, that acts. My poetry is not just made of words, as the Salvadoran poet Roque Dalton said, its marrow is the attitude that moves it: collective transformation! In addition to being a writer, I have been researching and translating, for some years now, the poetry of struggle from Latin America, being one of the founders of Trunca Edições, a collective that seeks to rescue, edit,  to disseminate and strengthen the field of past and present struggle poetry.
